Steve Shapiro

Shapiro is cofounder of eHealth Ventures, which is a consortium of world-class health care organizations and investors looking for star entrepreneur and technologies that will change the way healthcare is delivered. After two years have a portfolio of 8 innovative companies.
He is on the Board of Directors or The Advisory Board of eHealth Ventures, LLC (US), eHealth Ventures LTD (Israel), Allerguard; Start-Up (food allergen detection), iRx Reminder (medication adherence), The Lauren Condominium Association and at American University; The Center of Israeli Studies and The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center. In addition he is Managing Member of SHAFA Invesco, his family office.
Shapiro started in the late 1960’s in the computer service industry primarily working for ADP. Later Shapiro joined Cellular Communications, Inc as President and General Manager of The Cleveland/Akron/Canton market trading as Cellular One. In Shapiro’s time in this market his team’s results included being one of the first cellular operations in the US to have positive cash flow. This property is Verizon today.
Shapiro moved to Puerto Rico in 1993 to run a spinoff company, Cellular Communications of Puerto Rico trading as Cellular One. After a few years running this market, analysis referred to the company as the “Jewel of the Caribbean”. Sold company for $815 million dollars to ATT. Later became angel investor, and worked on several start-ups.
Shapiro is a CPA and a graduate of the Kogod School of Business at American University.
